Why are we only taught certain parts of history? In my recent study of drugs and amphetamines, it’s quite remarkable what role they played in WW2. Hitler injected amphetamines; US soldiers were given amphetamines in their ration kits to keep them going if necessary. The Japanese created Methamphetamine in 1919 and it was given to the Japanese soldiers regularly…they are thinking that it is part of the “weird” behavior that we saw, kamikazes, mass suicides and so forth. It’s hard to say if that was the sole cause, it’s rare that one thing is the -sole- cause but it’s definitely a contributing factor.
One wonders why this is hidden from students, this is surely the reality of drugs and how they have had a part in history. You can’t keep things like this from kids and hope they never hear about it. There needs to be a couple of new classes introduced into the schools….drugs and sex. Maybe combine them both over the course of a couple of semesters. Give early teens some real information on the shit and go from there. If you don’t, they are going to just hear the good side from their “friends”.
