damn

This whole backup thing went smoothly for the past several months…and now I’ve expanded beyond the capacity of the backup drive.  It’s not so much that I can’t fit on there what I need to…but I need to fit 2 copies of it on there and that’s not going to happen.  I’ve more than doubled a specific category of data in the past couple weeks…so that’s a big problem.  I might look at picking up another drive, or I’ll look at not keeping two copies of that type of data.

Not much else going on I guess, been a rush to get several things done at work so I’ve been kinda busy.

Farscape/Week 3

Posted by Grand Poobah On January - 28 - 2008

I finally finished watching all the Farscape episodes and the Movie.  Over the few years when I have seen this show in syndication it seemed like a tongue in cheek sci-fi show to me.  The set seemed well done and the puppets were OK…but over all…blah.  After watching it from beginning to end, I can say I was dead wrong.  This show was made before TV shows felt the need to pump themselves full of CGI and computer generated effects.  There is something to be said for a good rubber mask.  The puppets and costumes all looked very very good.  The action sequences were done very well, the -only- time it looked like a “tv show” was in one of the final episodes in season 4 when they were flying away from an exploding wormhole, it had the “in front of the green screen” tint to it.  The series kept me interested all the way through and it’s a shame it was canceled after season 4.  The movie covered enough area to take up two more seasons with interesting episodes.  It was made because they were under pressure from fans to somehow wrap up the series.  The movie was the worst “episode” in the series, simply because they tried to cover so much so quickly.

I highly recommend this series to any sci-fi fan.  This is bar none the best sci-fi series I have seen outside of BSG, and they are pretty much neck and neck.  I do believe you need to follow it from beginning to end to really appreciate the series, and you need to be a sci-fi fan.

I don’t have another series to watch right now…I’ll think of something I suppose.

Week 3!

Oooph, took a step back this week…well several of them.  I got pissed off and discouraged and things just snowballed from there.  I’m firing it up again today.  My pants to fit slightly better…so I can see some progress…but god damn it sometimes it’s nice to eat some fast food!  eh, not really I guess…it doesn’t taste all that good.  Being in a hurry is definitly the enemy of healthy eating.

HOLY SWEET SHIT!

Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Midcontinent Communications is launching its services to residents in roughly half of the city Feb. 4 and hopes to serve the entire city by year’s end.
