The Screaming Viking

For a year or better (that I’ve been aware) the *.gov has been studying the effects of reducing the amount of days that mail is delivered.  On a purely “oh much of a shit I give about snail mail” perspective, I’m all for cutting delivery back to 3 days a week.  I’m not a fan of what that could potentially do to the government employees though.  I don’t want to see anyone lose a job, and the question is really how much money do we save by cutting delivery.  There would still need to be some time spent on processing, and I really don’t expect less guys to do more work.

This is what the government gets for setting up this little monopoly…privatize the bastard and see what happens!!

I installed a new widget in to wordpress that allows me to go to google reader, mark for sharing articles from the various rss feeds I read and pull links plus the title to those articles in to where ever I can put the widget on my wordpress front page.

For now, I’m leaving it down towards the bottom next to “weather” and “blog login”.  It’s kind of a nifty little plugin.  The next step I would think is to be able to selectively chose which items you want to share, and take those articles and create a blog post out of them.  Right now there are syndication plugins that post everything that comes in on a given feed.

The talks between the UFC and Fedor Emelianenko have broken down and it doesn’t look like a deal is close to being done.

According to demandmma.com the UFC offered him a 6 fight 30 mil deal, along with several other concessions.  You can view the website if you want to see more of the offer.

It would appear the hold up is M-1 wanting to co-promote the fight.  If you look at Fedor’s side of this deal…what really does he gain in terms of notoriety?  He could cash in big time, but as far as his rep goes he doesn’t gain much and stands to lose quite a bit.

It’s very pleasing to me to see the UFC being on the short end of the stick.  From what I’ve seen, they have been able to bully their way in to almost everything.  Currently, Fedor holds all the cards and the UFC’s heavy weight division is being hurt every day they don’t have a fight with him on the books.

This is pretty gross, and I’m not sure what sick bastard would get this for their dog knowing they have to clean it….but why the hell couldn’t I think of something like this?  You know there are going to be enough crazy bastards buy this to make it profitable.
